Happy New Year

Well hear we are with Christmas done
2014’s just begun.
People wishing to be wealthy,
others hoping to stay healthy.
Resolutions will be spoken,
by next week they’ll all be broken.
Give up smoking, drink less booze,
and not forgetting weight to lose.
Try a hobby take up pottery,
win the Euro millions lottery.
But just because it’s New Year’s day,
don’t get too carried away.
True happiness is rarely found
by chance, just lying on the ground.
You see most folk don’t realise
what’s staring them right in the eyes.
The things that really make us smile
and make our lives feel more worthwhile,
are friends and family, loved ones dear,
who share our lives each passing year.
So happy new year one and all.
I hope this year you have a ball.
To all my friends and family
thanks for all you’ve done for me.
